L-band SATCOM coax cable runs from the antenna mounted converters to the indoor signal process equipment can introduce substantial signal attenuation which increases over the L-band frequency used. MITEQ’s DL1E and RL1E series of amplitude and slope equalizers provide adjustable gain up to 20 dB and up to 6 dB slope adjustment range in three models covering the conventional system IF L-bands of either; 950 to 1450 MHz, or 950 to 1750 MHz, or 950 to 2150 MHz. The units are in a 1 RU rack mount package with the DL1E series providing two independent channels of slope and amplitude correction, and the RL1E is a 1:1 redundant slope and amplitude system with automatic under RS422/485 interface or a manual switchover mode. Additionally, dramatic increase in SATCOM terminal reliability is obtained with MITEQ’s series of redundant Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) Systems.
The LNA portion of critical, high value SATCOM links can be protected and link continuity insured through the use of MITEQ’s extensive series of 1:1, Dual 1:1, and 1:2 Redundant LNA Systems. As described in MITEQ’s new D-235C data sheet, the redundant systems are comprised of a weatherproof antenna mount plate assembly containing two independent high performance LNAs plus switches and interfaced over standard RS422/485 communications to the remote indoor, rack-mount controller which can be located up to 100 feet (30m) away in the standard configuration or up to 400 feet (122m) in custom versions. The controller remotely monitors the LNA signal and automatically switches the standby LNA into the SATCOM link and removes the fault unit instantly maintaining link continuity.
