On August 31, 2026, Dutch shipping operator Royal Wagenborg contracted maritime technology provider De Boer Marine to execute a multiyear, phased deployment of onboard connectivity, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity systems across approximately 160 owned and managed general cargo vessels.
Onboard IT and Network Integration Specifications
Under the fleetwide integration agreement, De Boer Marine will deliver a consolidated technology suite designed to standardize ship-to-shore communications and digital operations across Royal Wagenborg’s cargo fleet. The package incorporates hardware upgrades, navigation and communication (NavCom) equipment, and managed IT infrastructure.
The integrated technology suite includes:
- LinQontrol Platform: Centralized network management software providing real-time monitoring and bandwidth allocation across vessel subsystems.
- Onboard IT Infrastructure: Modernized server systems, local network hardware, and security appliances engineered for high-availability maritime environments.
- NavCom Upgrades: Integrated navigation and satellite communication terminal hardware designed to maintain dual-path connection redundancy during transoceanic routes.
Maritime Fleet Security Rationale
The technology rollout addresses increasing regulatory and operational requirements for cyber resilience in commercial shipping. By integrating unified firewalls, endpoint monitoring, and encrypted communication channels, the deployment protects vessel operational technology (OT) networks against unauthorized access while ensuring continuous satellite links for crew welfare and administrative data transfers.
Fleet Deployment
De Boer Marine will execute the multiyear modernization program in phased dockside installments to prevent vessel operational downtime. System installation and network integration will proceed across Royal Wagenborg’s active cargo fleet through scheduled port calls and routine maintenance windows.
