This first satellite image was captured on September 1st at 13:32 UTC (9:32 a.m. EDT from Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES-12). In the image, Hurricane Gustav is just crossing the Louisiana coast while Tropical Storm Hanna spins near the Turks and Caicos Islands. GOES is operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
