Indra… Fair Game For New Products (Event)

[SatNews] Indra will display information on its satellites, it mini UAV, and its new light maritime surveillance aircraft…

…at FIDAE, the reference fair for the aerospace and defence industry in Latin America, which will take place from March 27th to April 1st, 2012. The company will also exhibit its Tierra Paz observation satellite, among other products.

In the land segment, the company is developing two Spanish high resolution satellites—one optical (Ingenio) and the other with a radar sensor (Paz). It also participates in key European programs such as GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment & Security), which will provide Europe with an independent Earth observation capacity. In terms of satellite communications, Indra will present its experience in rolling out the Spanish network (SECOMSAT), which has more than 300 terminals in operation, as well as its long-time collaboration with Brazil in rolling out its military satellite communications network (SISCOMIS).

The MRI surveillance plane that will be presented in Chile expands the solutions offering with which Indra addresses land, sea and air Defence and Security needs. The aircraft includes an advanced radar system, an AIS vessel identification system, a wide bandwidth data link and a state-of-the-art electro-optic device. This technology offers the highest level of effectiveness in exploring and monitoring maritime spaces. With a range of up to 200 nautical miles, this new plane strengthens the control exercised by the systems Indra develops for patrol vessels, with a range of up to 100 nautical miles. It also complements coastal surveillance systems, which have a range of 50 nautical miles. Indra is the leader in rolling out this last type of solution, with more than 3,500 kilometres of border surveillance throughout the world.

The company will also display at FIDAE its Mini UAV Mantis, which is a system that offers terrain intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance abilities. To manage Army operations, Indra has developed its own command and control system (BMS Battlefield Management System) that allows the exchange of data, images and orders between the command center and the troops deployed in the theatre of operations. For air surveillance and security, Indra will display its air traffic management systems, C4I systems and the LANZA 3D surveillance radar, which comprise the main system for the surveillance of the south western European air space within the Atlantic Alliance.
