The U.S. Commercial Service in Brazil has announced “The Future in Orbit – Brazil’s Space Technology Networking Event,” a strategic business session designed to connect American space technology providers with Brazilian decision-makers.

The event will be held on the margins of the SpaceBR Show 2026, which is scheduled for June 16–18 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. Participating U.S. companies will have the opportunity to pitch advanced subsystems directly to stakeholders from Brazil’s leading research institutes, universities, and government agencies.
Context of the Brazilian Space Market
Brazil’s space sector is currently undergoing a period of rapid evolution, supported by increased government investment and a push for technological sovereignty. This growth is evidenced by the first commercial space launch conducted from Brazilian territory in late 2025 and the subsequent expansion of the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA).
Brazilian institutions, including the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), and the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), are actively seeking international partnerships to fill technical gaps in domestic satellite development programs.
Targeted Technology Categories and Market Rationale
The networking event is specifically targeting U.S. suppliers of high-value systems that are currently in high demand within the Brazilian production chain. Priority areas include:
- Propulsion and ADCS: Systems for small and medium satellite platforms.
- Imaging and Sensing: High-resolution Earth Observation (EO) payloads and cameras.
- Communications: High-performance radios and onboard computers.
- Power Systems: Solar arrays and advanced parts/components.
The rationale for this engagement is to integrate U.S. “NewSpace” innovations into Brazilian strategic projects, such as the upcoming Xplorer public safety satellite and the ongoing Amazonia Earth observation constellation.
Stakeholder Engagement and Networking Architecture
Confirmed participants in the networking session include representatives from FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation), the Institute of Aeronautics and Space (IAE), and the SENAI Institute of Innovation in Embedded Systems. The format is designed to facilitate direct B2B and B2G (Business-to-Government) dialogue, moving beyond traditional trade show floor interactions.
By positioning the event within the SpaceBR framework—which expected to host over 230 brands and 10,000 visitors in 2026—organizers aim to capture the momentum of the regional NewSpace economy.
Timeline and Participation Details
U.S. companies interested in presenting their technology must register through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s international trade portal. Following the networking event in June, follow-up business roundtables are planned to finalize MoUs and procurement agreements. The SpaceBR Show will also feature simultaneous forums on space sustainability and launch commercialization, providing a comprehensive backdrop for the networking initiative’s focus on long-term industrial collaboration.
