On August 11, 2026, global managed network solutions provider Marlink signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent of Global RadioData Communications Ltd (GRC), a UK-based specialist in defense and government communication networks.
The transaction, expected to close later in August 2026, expands Marlink’s footprint in European military and government sectors at a time of rising demand for sovereign-grade managed connectivity.
Financial Integration and Defense Capability Portfolio
Based in Hereford, UK, GRC brings approximately £35 million in annual revenue and 30 specialist communications professionals to Marlink’s Government and Defence business unit. GRC designs, integrates, and supports rapidly deployable satellite, radio frequency (RF), cloud, and IP networking hardware, including tactical situational awareness systems. The company maintains longstanding operational support contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence and NATO, supported by bespoke defense engineering processes and specialized military communications equipment such as rugged satellite modems.
European Market Context and Strategic M&A Expansion
The acquisition advances Marlink’s strategic focus on government and critical national infrastructure (CNI) sectors across Europe, where geopolitical tensions have increased the need for secure communications when terrestrial networks are compromised. The transaction adds to Marlink’s history of targeted defense and maritime acquisitions, following its previous purchase of ITC Global in May 2021 to expand energy sector connectivity and Hellenic Radio Services in October 2022 to scale maritime communications.
Marlink currently generates over $800 million in annual revenues and employs 1,700 personnel across more than 30 countries, delivering technology-agnostic multi-orbit satellite, cellular, cyber security, and IT services.
