Satellite and defense communications designer and manufacturer, Vocality announces two key strategic appointments, to support Vocality’s growth opportunities. Vocality has appointed Susan Harvey as CEO of Vocality, as Julian Bashford steps down. Vocality has also appointed Paul Hutton as Chief Commercial Officer.
Susan Harvey, Chief Executive Officer – Vocality
Susan Harvey, formerly CFO at Vocality, is moving to the position of CEO. Susan joined Vocality in 2009 and has successfully steered the organization through market changes, and in establishing the company structure for growth.
As CFO, Susan was responsible for Vocality’s ISO certification, increased profitability, and securing the Breakthrough fund from Santander. Moving into the CEO role, Susan will give increased focus on new market exploration and internal investments in engineering and sales.
After 19 years at Vocality, Julian Bashford is stepping down from his position as CEO. Julian will continue to be involved on the board, as a major shareholder as well as handling marketing and brand development. Outside of Vocality, Julian will be working on a number of projects including a charity and a start-up media business.
The company has a dynamic management team that will take technology and business development into new and exciting directions. As part of these changes, Vocality is also announcing a strategic new hire.
Paul Hutton, Chief Commercial Officer – Vocality
Paul Hutton is joining Vocality as Chief Commercial Officer from Sept 29th 2014. Paul will focus on growing the global sales and support teams in line with the expanding market opportunities.
Paul has over 30 years of experience of creating and building great teams and successful businesses. He is a talented strategist and leader, who has achieved impressive results through outthinking the competition and creating over-performing sales and delivery teams.
He previously served at different times as both the Head of the CSC UK Public Sector business and the Head of Sales and Marketing for that business.
Additionally, Paul has run the Naval Satcom business for EADS Astrium, and has been instrumental in setting up The Mobile Channel/Research Now (a mobile phone advertising/market research business). He has run program delivery for Thales Avionics. Paul also served in the British Army reaching the rank of Lt Col.
