Mini-Tender For Boeing Stock — Boeing [NYSE: BA] has been notified of an unsolicited “mini-tender” offer by TRC Capital Corp. to acquire two million shares of Boeing common stock, representing less than one third of one percent of Boeing’s outstanding shares at a price of $63 per share. As a company policy, Boeing does not express an opinion and does not make a recommendation as to whether shareholders should tender their shares in TRC’s mini-tender offer. Boeing is not affiliated with TRC Capital or this tender offer and urges shareholders to consult with their broker or financial advisor. TRC’s offer of $63 per share was several dollars below the closing price of Boeing’s stock when TRC commenced its mini-tender offer on July 10, 2008 and is also below the July 21st closing price of $68.24 per share. - Comtech’s Arizona Sub Gains Assets — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL) announced their Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., has acquired the network backhaul assets and the NetPerformer and AccessGate product lines of Verso Technologies for approximately $3.9 million. The acquired assets and product lines cater to enterprises and mobile carriers and will be merged with Comtech EF Data’s subsidiary, Memotec, Inc.
- ViaSat’s LinkStar Links Up Water Works — ViaSat Inc. (NASDAW:VSAT) has completed the rollout of its LinkStar®S2 satellite networking system to ELIOP S.A. (Spain) for data collection, monitoring, and control of drinking and waste water operations for the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration General Directorate (ISKI). ELIOP has integrated its own “SHERPA” supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) technology with LinkStar terminals to gather information on water reservoir levels, pipeline integrity, water quality, and drinking and waste water distribution management for a community of 15 million customers. ViaSat supplied the complete satellite communication network including the antennas, satellite transmission electronics, LinkStar hub, and 300 network terminals.
