CETel is Spotbeam On as It Serves an Increasing Connectivity Demand in North Africa

Providing communications and connectivity to an area that previously had little, if any, coverage is certainly a welcome endeavor. Putting the plans for such into action is what German-based global communications solutions provider CETel is doing by delivering connectivity services into a region that again shows firm growth in demand for communications solutions.

The land-locked areas of Chad and South of Libya have little to no sufficient terrestrial connectivity and require stable, reliable and efficient solutions for their data and voice transmissions. Intelsat EPIC 37e, the fifth next-generation HTS (high throughput satellite) of Intelsat, positioned at orbital slot 18 degrees West, lights up this region with a powerful Ku-band spotbeam that CETel utilizes to serve their customers from various market verticals.

CETel has plans to migrate and initially activat 200 VSAT-sites into this new established network within the next six months. The services being delivered, includes a hub-based solution, therewith leveraging low investment costs at the remote sites. The powerful coverage helps to design cost-effective network solutions with low-cost terminals for this region.  Currently, CETel operates and manages more than 500 MHz on various satellites, as well as several O3b/MEO sites, delivering connectivity into more than 50 countries world-wide.

Guido Neumann, CEO of CETel explained that especially their global operating oil & gas customers rely on their high-quality service solutions, that allow them to maintain operations even in harsh geographic and socio-economic environments. At the same time, communications can be utilized to have a positive impact on the local community and therewith their solutions often also play an integral role in their customer’s CSR-policies.  The powerful HTS capacity of Intelsat EPIC 37e is their favorable choice for this region and they are happy to add this service into their broad portfolio.
