STOCKHOLM — On December 30, 2025, GomSpace (Nasdaq First North Premier: GOMX) announced it secured a 50 million SEK ($4.5 million) contract with an undisclosed European defense company to design and deliver a microsatellite platform.
The agreement, confirmed in a company statement, tasks GomSpace with the design, integration, and delivery of a configured microsatellite platform for a space research and development (R&D) program.
Expansion of Defense Portfolio
This award follows a series of defense and government sector wins for the company in 2025. In June 2025, GomSpace signed a 19.5 million Euro contract for an 18-satellite constellation.
Additionally, the company was awarded a 760,000 Euro European Space Agency (ESA) contract in October to advance onboard attitude control software.
Technical Scope and Sovereignty
The project focuses on developing sovereign defense capabilities. GomSpace Chief Executive Officer Carsten Drachmann stated that the agreement validates the company’s transition toward the security sector.
“GomSpace is honored and ready to work alongside market leaders in Defense for the development of critical and innovative space programs aiming at delivering sovereign solutions to nations, in Europe and beyond,” Drachmann said.
Delivery Schedule to 2027
The microsatellite platform will be manufactured at GomSpace’s facilities in Aalborg, Denmark. The company expects to complete the design and integration phases over the next 18 months.
Full execution of the contract and final handover of the platform are scheduled for the summer of 2027.
