This European company has been around for a little over 10 years, yet they've progressed to the level of earning WTA’s (World Teleport Association) Teleport Certification Tier 3 full certification.
The World Teleport Association (WTA) today announced that VIVACOM has achieved Tier 3 full certification of its Plana (Bulgaria) teleport under WTA’s Teleport Certification Program placing the Bulgarian satellite station among the most modern facilities of its kind worldwide. Twenty teleports are already certified and a further 12 are currently engaged in the quality evaluation process.
VIVACOM was the first telecom operator in Bulgaria and is now recognized as the leader in providing high-tech services of a new generation providing the communication needs of more than four million customers and has developed a network of over 230 shops throughout the country.
Vladimir Rangelov, Head of Broadcasting Services at VIVACOM stated that they constantly invest in the improvement of their teleport infrastructure with the aim to continue to provide their customers with reliable satellite transmission solutions and to increase their satellite service portfolio, and that this certification is a recognition of their efforts in creating seven platforms for signal transmission to operators in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia.
The process of obtaining the certificate is long and comprehensive to ensure its objectivity. The teleport operator needs to meet over 170 requirements that afterwards are thoroughly analyzed through an on-site audit.
The Bulgarian Plana teleport was certified as a Tier 3 teleport, thus becoming part of the elite club of certified teleports such as Globecomm, Elara Comunicaciones, GlobalSat, Arqiva, Eutelsat, Horizon Teleports, Media Broadcast, Signalhorn, Telenor, Telesapzio, Talia, CYTA, Batelco and Optus.
WTA's executive director Robert Bell commented that they are proud to add the Plana Teleport in Bulgaria to their growing list of certified teleports, and that a Full Certification from WTA provides independent validation of the quality of VIVACOM’s operations for its customers and prospects throughout the region.
