Futron will be among the presenters at the 2011 Canadian Space Summit, held on November 23-25 in Calgary, Alberta. Futron will be presenting its findings concerning the Strategy, Policy and Execution and the Impact on Canada’s Competitive Position in Space as drawn from its 2011 Space Competitiveness Index.
This presentation draws upon four years of historical data collected for an annual report on the competitiveness position of the world’s 10 leading space nations. Over the past several years, Canada’s global position in space-related human capital and industry capabilities has remained relatively constant, while its comparative position in government policy and budget has shown swings in different years toward both the positive and negative. As the status and release of Canada’s Long-Term Space Plan remains in limbo, this presentation will present an analysis of which governmental factors impede Canada’s space competitiveness, versus which drive opportunities within the overall competitveness of the Canadian space enterprise.
On November 30th, 2011, the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Foundation (USISTF) will release the inaugural edition of the U.S-Israel Innovation Index. The Index assesses bilateral linkages between the United States and Israel in areas related to innovative science and technology, and compares those linkages to several other countries.
