Artel Video Systems… @ IBC 2011 With… (SatBroadcasting™)

July 25, 2011

[SatNews] At IBC2011, Artel Video Systems will present its latest technology advancements.

The products being shown include the new DLC156, a six-channel Time Division Multiplexer (TDM); the new DLC103, a 3G multirate digital video optical transmitter/receiver/transceiver/repeater; the DLC410, a video-over-IP gateway; the DL4300, an expanded 12-slot chassis for the company’s flagship DL4000 modular video transport platform; and the DLT710, a multiformat signal generator and tester.

DLC156 — This is an innovative six-channel TDM for transporting uncompressed and compressed video over dark fiber. The space-efficient and cost-effective module enables the transport of up to six HD-SDI or three 3G-SDI digital video services over a single optical wavelength, saving fiber costs and simplifying network design and deployment. Users can mix and match SD-SDI, ASI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI services into a single 10Gb/s optical transport stream. The DLC156 supports links in excess of 80 km using industry-standard, hot-swappable 10G XFP transceivers in WDM and DWDM wavelengths. For additional flexibility, the DLC156 can also be used as a transport aggregator for Artel’s DLC274 four-channel TDM module enabling the transport of hundreds of mixed format video circuits over a single fiber. With its format flexibility, easy configuration, low-power design, and competitive price, the DLC156 is an ideal solution for fiber-constrained, multiservice video transport applications.

DLC103 — Debuting at the show is this flexible, cost-effective, bidirectional fiber optic transport module for all digital video formats ranging from 19.39 Mb/s to 2.97 Gb/s. The single-module DLC103 is user configurable to function as a transmitter, receiver, transceiver, repeater, and four-channel distribution amplifier. The DLC103 incorporates numerous features in a flexible, easy-to-deploy, and configurable module, offering unparalleled quality and reliability. Backward compatible with the popular DLC100 function module, it facilitates a seamless transition from HD to 3G transport. The DLC103 module can be deployed in Artel’s video transport platform including the DL4300 12-slot, DL4000 four-slot, DL4042 four-slot, and DL4100 single-slot family of chassis. For added flexibility, the DLC103 uses industry-standard 1310nm, 1550nm, and CWDM Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optics.

DLC410 — This is an ASI- and SDI-over-IP gateway — a first for the company’s flagship DL4000 platform — that enables the transport of two bidirectional streams across a single Gig-E connection. The module’s low cost, reliability, and rich features such as multicasting make it an ideal solution for CATV operators and video service providers with intercity video connectivity requirements. Because its design is based on the SMPTE 2022 encapsulation and forward error correction standard, the DLC410 also provides interoperability with other standards-based video-over-IP products.

DL4300 12-Slot Chassis
— Designed for the company’s DL4000 modular video transport platform, this unit is compatible with the dozens of available DL4000 modules and is ideal for central office applications where multiple circuits are aggregated and a larger chassis simplifies installation requirements, saving time and money. The DL4300 builds on the existing DL4000 digital video transport system offering reliable and easy-to-deploy solutions for critical video backhaul and contribution applications. The DL4300 joins the DL4000 and DL4042 1RU four-slot chassis and the DL4100 single-slot portable chassis to create a comprehensive array of options for any application. As with the DL4000, DL-Manager and SNMP capabilities are embedded in the DL4300 chassis and require no additional software.

DLT710 — This multipurpose module is the ideal, inexpensive solution for verification and monitoring of all uncompressed and compressed video rates and formats including 3G-SDI. Its unique, innovative design characteristics, focusing on simplicity and reliability, enable the simultaneous, automatic verification of multiformat video links. The clear “go/no-go” indication it provides makes the DLT710 perfect for circuit verification, pre-installation equipment verification or installed circuit analysis. More information on Artel’s product familiy may be seen at the Company’s website.
