Lori Garver
To address these and other issues, NASA’s Deputy Administrator Lori Garver will speak on the role of government agencies in supporting innovation in commercial spaceflight during her keynote address at ISPCS 2011. The theme of ISPCS 2011 is Business at the Speed of Innovation. ISPCS 2011 will be held October 19-20 during Space Week in New Mexico.
Garver will discuss NASA’s commercial crew development program and other initiatives aimed at helping develop the U.S. commercial spaceflight industry.
“The federal government has to get out of the business of owning and operating low-Earth orbit transportation systems and work in new more efficient ways with the private sector,” said Garver. “We are making tremendous progress with the commercial cargo and crew programs, and we are excited about having American companies transporting our astronauts and their supplies into space in the near future.”
The theme of ISPCS 2011 is “Business at the Speed of Innovation” and the event will showcase the commercial spaceflight industry’s innovations and technologies in both the presentations and exhibits.
This year’s conference will feature a new indoor Commercial Space Exhibit Hall and a separate symposium room just added to the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.
