professionals. GeoSpatial Experts of Thornton, Colorado, introduced the GPS-Photo Link Express Series, a consumer edition of its photo-mapping software.
Photo Link Express was created for those requiring an accurate capture of the GPS coordinates enabling their digital photos to note the precise photograph locations to be documented and displayed on a digital map, such as Google Earth, according to Rick Bobbitt, GeoSpatial Experts CEO. Recreational photographers will also discover that Express Series makes it easy to keep track of where their photos were taken.
For business applications, GeoSpatial Experts anticipates that the flexibility and functionality of GPS-Photo Link Express will appeal to law enforcement, real estate, emergency response, engineering and construction, and oil & gas personnel. Any industry that requires photographic documentation for regulatory compliance, reporting purposes, or evidence gathering can benefit from this, and its ease of use enable one to learn the software is about 15 minutes.
GPS-Photo Link Express runs on both desktop and laptop computers, is compatible with any handheld GPS receiver and digital camera, including some cell phone cameras like the iPhone 3G. For more sophisticated photographers, the Express Edition also works with the recently introduced models of GPS-enabled digital cameras from Ricoh and Nikon.
Introduced in 2001, GPS-Photo Link automatically links digital photographic images with GPS locations and other data using the location data to accurately map the photographs in their correct locations for display on a digital map layer such as Google Earth or in a geographic information system (GIS) such as ESRI.
