We Will Not Stop…certainly a strong statement, and one that will be the theme addressed by commercial space industry leaders from around the world, as well as academia, and state and federal government officials. The event will take place on October 12-13 at the 12th annual International Symposium for Personal and Commercial Spaceflight (ISPCS) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. ISPCS offers an agenda that reflects the industry’s current state that is sure to ignite thoughtful dialogue and strong partnerships.
Patricia C. Hynes, Ph.D., curator of ISPCS stated, “’We Will Not Stop’—this theme addresses the importance of persistence and perseverance in a potentially uncertain current environment. Our industry has multiple milestones within reach and focus is necessary. This highly energetic and competitive industry is at a pivotal point in shaping the future of aerospace as commercialization of low Earth orbit (LEO) becomes reality. During ISPCS, we will discuss vision, pathways and executable plans to accomplish our near-term and future goals.”
This year, 35 international government and industry speakers will engage attendees on topics, including space traffic management, a self-sustaining commercial economy in LEO, international policy for space resources, persistence and perseverance in human spaceflight, along with updates from key investors, designers and creators. There is an emerging need to look outside the space community to the next tier of collaborators. They bring energy and information to this audience through a curated conference, assuring the theme is addressed by different voices. The conference will conclude with a panel on the evolution of NASA’s International Space Station Commercial Resupply Services and how government and industry partners are working together to nurture a commercial economy in LEO.
ISPCS aims to set an industry standard by providing an annual call to action to increase access to space for humans. “As we continue to address human reliance on essential services that depend on space assets and systems, it is imperative that we make a commitment to a larger vision for our future presence and security in space,” Hynes concluded.
ISPCS 2016 will take place at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, New Mexico, an intimate setting for the symposium that enables industry leaders and their customers to forge relationships and shape future partnerships.
