TUESDAY UPDATE: MILSATCOM On Display @ MILCOM 2015 — Even More Satnews Publishers Booth Visits…

October 27, 2015

[Satnews] Trade shows are events that can bring lucidity to otherwise complex technical issues, as attendees are able to visit directly with those who have engineered the technologies, built the products and prepared the information that support MILSATCOM business success—MILCOM 2015 is one such occasion of merit.

In session from October 26 through 28, MILCOM 2015 brings the technology and associated imperatives to the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida. Military readiness and ops and the communications environments are the focus of this event with numerous technical presentations, discussions and tutorials on the agenda, such as C4ISR, as well as almost 30,000 square feet of intriguing industry exhibits to visit.

Satnews Publisher Silvano Payne and Marketing Director Jill Durfee are in attendance at MILCOM 2015—significant booth visits have included:

Communications & Power Industries (CPI)
CPI Satcom Division's HPAs for military satellite uplinks and troposcatter communications feature many innovations, including unmatched efficiency, high linear power, and operability at ambient temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius, are on display at their booth #720. (See the news story Communications & Power Industries Awarded $9.7M For Aegis Radar System at today's Satnews news infosite.)
CPI's Satcom Division (CPI Satcom) has played a pivotal role in the SATCOM industry since the firm's inception. The first satellite projects, including INTELSAT and CONUS, were supported by CPI, which was then part of Varian Associates, Inc. The company has shipped more than 40,000 high power amplifiers to uplink stations in over 150 countries. CPI Satcom products for satellite uplink and troposcatter applications are available in all standard frequencies, including S-, C-, Ku-, Ka-, DBS- and X-band.
Additionally, CPI's Microwave Power Products Division (CPI MPP) is widely known for their high-quality products and unmatched customer support and is constantly developing and manufacturing technologically superior, competitively priced microwave vacuum electron devices.

Comtech Xicom Technology
Comtech Xicom offers an extensive product line of SATCOM amplifiers. Highly regarded for their reliable output power and efficiency, Xicom Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs), Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs), Klystron Power Amplifiers (KPAs), and Block Upconverters (BUCs) are used in MILSATCOM as well as commercial applications where customers require increased power and bandwidth. Xicom HPAs are available for ground-fixed, ground-mobile, and airborne applications.
The company offers subject-matter expertise within C4ISR, RF, SATCOM and Systems, Shipboard Systems, as well as Satellite and Space Communications. Among their presentations at booth #330 are their SuperPower™ TWTAs, which debuted to the market earlier this year—these are highly efficient, very high power Ku- and DBS-band units that provide direct replacement for KPAs in SATCOM uplink apps. Comtech Xicom also offers products for airborne, shipboard, trailer-mount and manpack apps, with compact packaging and highly efficient circuits that result in products that are ideal for tight spaces and for battery operation.  Readers might also wish to view the the latest Comtech EF Data information at this link to the details now running at the daily Satnews.com infosite: Comtech EF Data… LPOD Block Up Converter Product Line Expands = Two New Models.
