SpeedCast, an international satellite telecommunications service provider, today announced the latest step along its global expansion journey – a unifying of its brand to create a single new force with a top five position in the industry.
With more than 15 years experience, SpeedCast has enjoyed sustained success and growth from its base in Hong Kong and now supports customers across more than 60 countries through 16 sales and support offices, 30 teleport operations and a network of 150 partners. Since embarking on its global expansion two years ago, SpeedCast has acquired other established satellite industry players, Australian Satellite Communications, Pactel International and Elektrikom Satellite Services.
“We already have leadership market positions in Asia Pacific for land VSAT services – as well as globally for maritime – and the time has come to deliver on our vision of becoming a true global leader by taking this next step forward,” said Pierre-Jean Beylier, CEO of SpeedCast.

SpeedCast is making its announcement on the opening day of the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, where many of its customers will be attending. The company will also be appearing and speaking at the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) at the same venue on the following day.
SpeedCast offers a vast range of services across satellite technology, including broadband services, managed network services and value added services such as VOIP and WAN optimization. Industries served include Oil & Gas, Mining, Telcos, Government and maritime, where the company has established a true one-stop shop with a world class infrastructure for secure communications.
SpeedCast’s maritime business is a new emerging force in with a leadership position in Asia and growing momentum in Europe. Within the maritime sector, SpeedCast has a reputation for total service and innovation; such as when it pioneered the first global Ku-band satellite communications network with auto-beam switching. It now offers a full range of C-band and Ku-band services.
