Space and Satellite Regulatory Colloquium… An Event Rich With Experts + Information

October 20, 2013

[SatNews] As the list of prestigious speakers grows, reservations are filling up—after all, where else would you have the opportunity to rub elbows with the industry’s finest?

The Space and Satellite Regulatory Colloquium will be held at the Jones Day Conference Facilities and is presented by SatNews in collaboration with ManSat and Jones Day. Be sure to sign up for this event on Thursday, October 24th from 8 am until 6 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be served and, at the conclusion, a reception will be held on the patio overlooking the Capitol Building with a wine tasting and cocktail hour

Jones Day 7th floor conference center overlooking the capital building in Washington D.C.

These three agencies have been planning the event carefully, choosing the most respected and noteworthy specialists in their field. It is truly an elegant group of experts. For you to be able to network amongst them for this one day will certainly be a memory held for a lifetime.

What you don’t know in the area of emerging space law and regulatory issues that are facing the U.S. Administration and International governments could hurt you.

Reservations are rapidly filling, and it is recommended that you register here today.

Here is a peek at just a few of the topics that will be addressed. These hot button issues with be paired with experts, providing information that can profit you and your company, and, more importantly, save you from being ignorant of the new laws. As examples here are a few of the timely topics:

  • The U.S. will authorize private sector mining and resource extraction on the Moon and asteroids while maintaining that the activities do not conflict with the Outer Space Treaty’s prohibition on appropriation.
  • The FAA’s space office will see its jurisdictional mandate continue to increase through a series of legislative measures and internal FAA decisions; the big test will be who gets suborbital point-to-point transportation in the latter part of the next decade.
  • The FCC will continue to assert broad-based jurisdiction over space missions, including but not limited to the communications aspects, to the extent the activity is not regulated by other agencies, e.g., satellite servicing.
  • NOAA will be required to use commercial weather satellite data to the extent it is available and consistent with U.S. national and foreign policy interests; NOAA will license weather- and increasingly more capable remote sensing satellites.
  • The ITU will continue to carry out its vital frequency allocation, coordination and recoding functions.  As for unresolved frequency disputes, the Radio Regulations Board will refer them to mandatory, binding arbitration in Geneva under the Swiss Chambers’ International Arbitration Rules.
There is much more, and those attending will be talking about this event for a long time. Register here to be a part of history in the making.

On October 24th, from 8 am until 6 pm, attendees will be in rapt attention gleaning words of wisdom from;
