[SatNews] Signalhorn has been selected by the SOCAR ENERGY Switzerland to migrate and manage the telecommunications and other network services of its chain of petrol/gas stations in Switzerland. Terms of the long-term contract were not disclosed. SOCAR Energy Switzerland belongs to SOCAR, the State-owned energy company of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The agreement calls for Signalhorn to manage all the point of sale (POS) operations of SOCAR’s network of 160 Swiss stations. Signalhorn will manage these services employing an integrated combination of satellite, 3G, DSL, MPLS and Internet-based solutions, plus the wide range of managed services required to support complex software, security, and transport requirements.
Signalhorn currently supports approximately 10,000 POS sites globally. This gives the company a depth of experience and expertise to deliver the highest levels of quality and reliability in the telecommunications market, especially for services involving payment processing networks. In July 2012, SOCAR acquired the entire Swiss business of Esso Schweiz GmbH from ExxonMobil, including the Esso brand network of service stations.
