…in its comprehensive portfolio of IPTV and Internet encoding products for pro A/V applications.
VSI will unveil PackeTV® Views, a low-cost, user-friendly, and easily configurable browser-based interface that simplifies viewing, maintenance, publishing, and access control of content. Ideal for the education and house of worship markets, PackeTV Views features intuitive controls that can be easily operated by both technical and non-technical personnel. Operators simply open the URL with the channel lineup, build a view customized for the intended audience, and can instantly push the content to viewers. Leveraging cloud services, or Software as a Service (SaaS), PackeTV Views minimizes end-user requirements, eliminating the overhead and costs traditionally associated with deploying and maintaining complex client software. Additionally, the HTML-based solution supports a variety of popular web browsers and provides personalized experience for users through customized branding and a flexible design, allowing users to share and consume media that is audience and age appropriate. Single-instance and enterprise licenses are available, enabling a local user to have a custom menu that consists of media feeds delivered and managed remotely, combined with additional channels that originate locally.
VSI’s new H.264 and MPEG-2 based decoder supports SDI (3G/HD/SD), HDMI®, and DVI outputs with resolutions of up to 1080p60, enabling users to deliver professional quality HD video and audio over IP networks cost-effectively. After receiving H.264 or MPEG-2 audio and video content from a VSI encoder, the D1000 decodes and outputs the content into a high-quality 1080p, 1080i, or 720p HD stream, in real time, at the lowest possible bit rate. The high-performance decoder also supports a wide range of audio standards, including AAC, MPEG-1/2, and optionally AC3, to ensure exceptional audio quality.
VSI will also highlight PackeTV® Mobile, an HTTP-based media streaming communications system that simplifies the delivery of live and file-based content, enabling content administrators to deploy IP video to any connected device—including mobile phones, tablets, and set-top boxes. Built on an entirely server-based design, PackeTV Mobile can be cost-effectively deployed on any public or private network where HTTP access is allowed and scaled to provide superior-quality streaming video content to an unlimited number of users. Ideal for a broad range of markets, including professional A/V, PackeTV Mobile supports SD and HD HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), with H.264 video and AAC audio, providing users with a high degree of flexibility.
During InfoComm 2013, VSI will demonstrate integration between the company’s popular AVN Series encoders and PackeTV® Mobile media streaming system. Prior to video delivery, VSI’s AVN IPTV encoders transform content from a variety of sources into full-screen, full-resolution IP digital video in real time. Capable of encoding both HD and SD video in an H.264 stream (MPEG-4 Part 10/AVC), VSI’s AVN Series is the ideal encoding solution for content administrators requiring cost-effective, low bit rate HD/SD video distribution over IP networks. Operators deploying the new bundle can choose between the AVN443, AVN441, and AVN422 encoders, based on their individual requirements. After content is encoded, VSI’s PackeTV Mobile converts transport streams into HLS, ensuring a superior quality of experience on any IP-connected device. Featuring a server-based design, PackeTV Mobile can be deployed cost-effectively on any public or private network where HTTP access is allowed and scaled to provide superior-quality streaming video content to an unlimited number of users, eliminating the need for costly content delivery networks.
