…senior satellite industry executives to its Awards Committee, which selects the honorees of its global Hall of Fame, Industry Innovator, Promise and Mentor Awards. Joining the committee are Dr. Nongluck Phinainitisart, Chief Commercial Officer of Thaicom, and Mr. Jean-Paul Hoffmann, Vice President, Corporate Communications for SES in Luxembourg. Serving with Dr. Phinainitisart and Mr. Hoffmann on the Committee are Dick Tauber, Vice President, Transmission Systems and New Technology for CNN; Dianne VanBeber, Vice President, Investor Relations and Communications for Intelsat; Denis Curtin, former COO of XTAR; D.K. Sachdev, President of SpaceTel Consultancy; and Mary Frost.
The Committee selects the Promise Award winners from among satellite professionals age 35 and under who have made substantial contributions to their companies and the industry, as well as the Mentor of the Year. These awards are presented at the annual Future Leaders Dinner in New York City, which takes place on November 13, 2012, at The Harmonie Club. Nominations for these awards will close on September 14.
The Committee also selects individuals who have made signature contributions to the industry for induction into the Satellite Hall of Fame, and organizations that have dramatically advanced the state of the art in satellite technology for its Industry Innovators Awards. SSPI will induct new members into the Hall of Fame at its 2013 Gala on March 19 in Washington DC.
