Satellite iRG announced a number of important changes and developments amongst its management structure. With an all new director line up, a revamped image and renamed “Satellite IRG” the new team is now in place; now simply promoted as the “IRG”.
Continuing with practical initiatives of establishing Carrier ID, Training & Certification and Type Approvals, the group must increase its support to other major groups such as the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) and the WBU-ISOG. All these and more are aimed at driving the organization forward, with better global reach and with the ultimate goal of eradicating interference before it starts.
Martin Coleman is the Executive Director of the new Team. He has been working with SUIRG for a number of years, notably establishing the ground rules for adding Carrier ID to digital video carriers. Martin shall carry on as Chairman of the Video Committee and also champion, on behalf of the groups dealing with Data and VSAT ID.
Each of the directors will take an active role in the new Team and each will have objectives of their own to accomplish.
A great deal of thanks and praise must go to Bob Ames who helped form and successfully guide SUIRG to its role today as a key player on Satellite Interference.
SUIRG, now renamed Satellite IRG, is the global industry organization, established to combat the increasing and costly problem of satellite radio frequency interference.
“Martin has been heavily involved with Satellite IRG for a number of years and in that time he has truly been a motivating force,” commented Bob Ames, Satellite IRG. “He was a natural choice for my replacement and I believe will bring about some positive results in the combat against interference.”

Andreas Voigt, Director, Eutelsat — Objectives: Co-ordinate global acceptance of Type Approval, Training & Certification with an additional focus on ASI.
Guido Baraglia, Director, Integral Systems — Objectives: Increase, improve & expand interference awareness, support and base to operators, users & agencies.
Martin Coleman, Executive Director, Colem — Objectives: Acceptance of Carrier ID (Video, Data and VSAT) targeting the Olympics and better member involvement.
Patricia Constantino, Director, Intelsat — Objectives: Provide better Statistical Interference Reporting, PR/Media Spread & Web related services.
Howard Feldman, Director, Inmarsat — Objectives: Co-ordinate the global support for industry groups such as GVF, WBU-ISOG, CASBAA, & APSCC.
Hector Fortis, Director, Satélites Mexicanos — Objectives: Bringing together regulatory entities, operators, users and equipment manufacturers to help stop interference.
Steven Smith, Director, SES — Objectives: Promote improved practices and technology to reduce the impact of interference to satellite operators and users.
