GlobeCast Australia… Live & Breaking For TEN (Capacity)

[SatBroadcasting(tm)] GlobeCast Australia has allocated a 9Mhz satellite slot exclusively for Network TEN’s expanded live news requirements in 2011.

From Monday, January 24, Australia’s Network TEN is adding a full additional hour of news to its evening schedule, including even more localised bulletins in all capital cities. Network TEN has worked closely with GlobeCast Australia for many years now, with both global fibre and domestic satellite requirements for news, entertainment programming and sport. According to Commercial Director Andrew Nealon, “So it was natural TEN would look to a trusted partner when expanding their news schedule, which necessitated additional satellite space to reliably facilitate live and breaking news.”

A TEN executive confirmed that GlobeCast Australia’s Optus D2 dedicated slot, which was handed over on schedule in December, has in fact already proven its worth with TEN’s extensive flood disaster coverage across December and January. TEN also supplemented the allocated slot with Occasional Use bookings. The Network also brings its HD sport and global news and program feeds to Australia via GlobeCast Australia’s fibre network in Europe and the US. Network TEN’s news schedule commences at 5pm with its well-established hour-long news in each market. A new national program of news and analysis – hosted by news veteran George Negus – will air at 6pm, followed by capital city local bulletins at 6.30pm and then the 7pm Project.
