[SatNews] Thuraya has signed a new service provider agreement in Taiwan with Chunghwa Telecom.
According to the agreement, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s largest telecommunication operator will cooperate with Thuraya to provide the mobile satellite operator’s services in Taiwan and the neighboring region. The main market segments that Chunghwa Telecom will focus on disaster prevention and restoration as well as maritime and global travelers, the key customers of mobile satellite services. From Thuraya’s growing portfolio of products, Chunghwa Telecom will promote the world’s toughest satellite phone, Thuraya XT and a multi-communication specialized maritime solution, Thuraya Marine. These products will benefit the emergency services and maritime sector that depend on satellite communications when there is limited access to terrestrial networks. Thuraya’s products will facilitate communications in Taiwan, regardless of a user’s location.
