[SatBroadcasting™] Newtec is promoting its DualFlow™ technology in Europe at IBC2010 by facilitating day-to-day contributions, DSNG and distribution operations. DualFlow is Newtec’s answer to the growing IP convergence in the broadcasting market. Already adapted by major international broadcasters, DualFlow provides a practical implementation for satellite transmissions that is in touch with broadcasting reality and its migration towards IP.
Newtec’s DualFlow allows broadcasters to migrate towards IP satellite operations while retaining compatibility with traditional tape-based environments. DualFlow modulation products support both ASI and GbE (Gigabit Ethernet) interfaces in the same unit, which allows operators to continue service for clients using ASI and cater to clients already converted to IP operations.
In short, broadcasters can choose when to make the switch to IP and how they spread the investment load during the transition period. DualFlow presents broadcasters with the ability to transport simultaneous live broadcasting and data over the satellite link in the same carrier.
Additionally, DualFlow enables two-way connectivity over satellite, introducing new interactive services (VoIP, Web browsing, file transfer, translation and comments to news items) to boost productivity. DualFlow is available on Newtec’s Azimuth satellite broadcasting modulation equipment.
