Here’s Looking @ Earth… Where There’s Russian Fires, There’s Russian Smoke (EUMETSAT—Imagery)

[SatNews] Imagery from NASA’s Terra satellite was presented to readers yesterday, and here’s EUMETSAT’s take on the fiery problems within Russian of late.

These satellite images reveal extensive smoke — the thin, wispy grey cloud — over Russia as a result of recent widespread wildfires (04/08/10 07.28 UTC). The image was captured by the AVHRR instrument onboard EUMETSAT’s Metop-A polar-orbiting satellite.
