DIRECTV, Inc. is adding 44 new HD local channel markets. By the end of 2008, DIRECTV will provide local HD broadcast channels in 121 cities, representing more than 88 percent of U.S. TV households. DIRECTV will begin the rollout of the new HD local markets in August and continue through the end of the year. DIRECTV will deliver HD programming from the primary broadcast networks — ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC — where available and authorized, to customers who subscribe to any TOTAL CHOICE® programming package that offers local channels. ITT Visual Information Solutions (ITT VIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of ITT Corporation, (NYSE: ITT), has signed distribution agreements with 23 independent companies, covering over 30 countries worldwide, for its image processing software product, ENVI. Under these authorized distribution agreements, distributors will make the ENVI family of image processing and analysis products available to a growing number of professionals who rely on geospatial imagery and the information it provides for a variety of remote sensing and GIS applications including planning, defense and intelligence, resource management, and research.

Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) has announced that Japan’s NTT Communications (NTT Com) has deployed Juniper Networks T1600 core routers to scale the capacity of its global IP network, the largest dedicated Internet backbone network in the world. Traffic growth driven by increased subscriber demand for IPTV and multiplay services compelled NTT Com to scale the capacity of its global Tier-1 IP backbone network. Key considerations for the selection included the non-disruptive upgrade path from the T640 to the multi-terabit capacity and energy efficiency advantages of the T1600.

ONDAS Media S.A., the Madrid-based satellite radio company for Europe, has today announced it has issued integration contracts to its technology partners Delphi, The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Institute (FHG) in Germany, and Certicom, to begin integration activities of its satellite radio system in Nissan vehicles in addition to two further leading premium, high-volume car manufacturers in Europe. Hardware provider Delphi and FHG, which is responsible for the core RF and Waveform, have now been contracted to ensure ONDAS Media’s satellite radio and media system matches the detailed specifications from the OEMs for installation in production vehicles. In addition, it has been announced that Dave Krueger has been promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer of ONDAS Media. Krueger replaces Jacinto Palacios who will remain at the company in a consulting capacity.

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has partnered with The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) to bid for the U.S. Air Force’s Counterspace Command and Control Sustainment contract. The contract, with a potential value of $100 million during the next 10 years, outlines the need for a comprehensive command and control, or C2, capability supporting the U.S. Air Force’s space superiority mission. The requirements include designing and developing a solution that will protect global satellite communications systems and deliver new C2 capabilities to the Air Force. The contract award is expected in September 2008.
