Once again SkyTrac has obtained a supplemental type certificate (STC), this time for the installation of its automated flight following and satellite communication’s equipment on the Eurocopter EC120 and EC135 airframe types. SkyTrac’s increasing list of STCs include popular rotary and fixed wing aircraft from Robinson, Bell, MBB, Sikorsky, Beechcraft, Raytheon and Agusta Westland.
The EC120 is a single engine, multipurpose helicopter known for its reliable performance and low operating costs. While the EC 135 has become the most widely accepted aircraft in its class, and is frequently used in the airborne law enforcement, search and rescue, and air medical sectors. The EC 135 is a highly maneuverable twin engine, multi mission helicopter.
Canadian Helicopters Limited (CHL) is part of a Fleet Renewal program and welcomes SkyTrac’s STC regarding the installation of the ISAT into the EC120, as the EC120 as a integral part of its future fleet. CHL is currently installing the ISAT100 and CDU250, with a fleet wide completion date schedule for early 2009.
