SkyTrac, a leading supplier of SatCom systems for flight following, mapping and communications based on data, text and voice, earned their Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Robinson R22 and R44 Aircraft Types. The R22 and R44 are the latest additions to SkyTrac’s increasing list of STCs, which includes popular rotary and fixed wing aircraft from Bell, Eurocopter, MBB, Sikorsky, Beechcraft, Raytheon and Agusta Westland. The popular R22 (two‐seat) and R44 (four‐seat) are light, piston‐driven helicopters. In 2007, Robinson Helicopter Company manufactured 823 new R22 and R44 helicopters, the most civil helicopters ever produced in a single year by one company. SkyTrac’s STC for the R22/R44 is very broad in scope and covers all models listed in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transport Canada TCDS (Type Certificate Data Sheet). As such it covers all models operating in the U.S. and Canada—British Columbia, Canada
