Following approval, Thrane & Thrane started shipping the initial EXPLORER 727 terminals to distributors. The EXPLORER 727 is a successor to the EXPLORER 527, a terminal for vehicular use. Features of the new terminal include data speeds up to 432 kbps with a guaranteed speed of up to 256 kbps.
