The Advent Of New Speedyfunk DSNG Capabilities
Speedyfunk TV, a live broadcast production company based in Munich and Vienna, has purchased two HD-ready DVE 5000 satellite transmission systems from UK manufacturer Advent Communications. These are for new trucks which will be used by ORF and other broadcasters during EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. Speedyfunk operates a fleet of digital newsgathering trucks with satellite uplinks, cameras, editing and crews for live production. Advent‘s DVE 5000 electronics system comprises an encoder for SD or HD with an integrated L-band modulator and HPA, an Antenna Controller Unit with an optional Satfinder, a Drive Control Unit for motorized antennas and a new Block UpConverter for Ku-band. These four compact, weatherproof units are half the size of the traditional 19-inch rack mounted systems. They can be mounted in a satellite truck or they can be carried in flight cases. Speedyfunk has integrated its DVE 5000 units into trucks which are also equipped with Advent satellite uplinks.
