Saddle Creek Transportation Inc. has implemented the patented Global Locating System (GLS) asset tracking technology from SkyBitz to provide enhanced security for its customers’ high-value shipments. Although Saddle Creek already had an analog-based trailer tracking system, the upcoming Federal Communications Commission (FCC)-mandated switch to digital technology left the company with two choices: upgrade its incumbent system to digital or switch to another provider. Saddle Creek ultimately selected the SkyBitz GLS 210 untethered mobile technology to gain additional security enhancements and increased functionality.
