- $150 million is a tidy sum, and that’s what EchoStar Corporation has invested in TerreStar Corporation. In addition, the former leased to the latter some broadcast spectrum. Last Friday, this investment was made known, and it finds EchoStar becoming more deeply “involved” in the wireless Internet access market with mobile appliances in mind. Terrestar-1, TerreStar’s first satellite, should launch sometime between December of this year and February of 2009.
