Ultra Reliability Is Spacenet’s Offer To Retail Enterprises

Spacenet Inc. has introduced a new, affordable program specifically designed for retail enterprises to help reduce operational expenses and minimize lost revenue caused by network downtime. The program enables customers to leverage VSAT services as part of a hybrid network for ultra reliable networking and redundant communications for business continuity. Current Spacenet customers can leverage their existing VSAT platform to seamlessly integrate the new services.



The Hybrid Ultra Reliability program provides a wireline service (DSL or cable) for primary connectivity that supports business applications, and VSAT for secondary connectivity that provides network backup, supports broadcast and multicast applications that are well suited for satellite, and provides coverage where DSL and cable are not available. The completely managed network service provides firewall and VPN support. Other benefits include PCI compliance over wireline and VSAT, and 100 percent nationwide coverage. The program provides customers with a nationwide ‘one-stop shop’ for wireline, VSAT, and managed network services with one flat month rate for easy billing.



The Hybrid Ultra Reliability program helps to mitigate the risks of network downtime and outages and minimize potential lost revenue. The hybrid service provides redundant communications and a diverse network path for guaranteed network availability. VSAT as a backup enables customers to achieve network uptime of 99.99 percent with seamless failover connectivity in the case of a primary network outage. In addition, customers can maximize network return on investment by utilizing the VSAT network for other applications, such as digital media, while it is in ‘hot stand-by’ backup mode—McLean, Virginia
