NEW HARTFORD, NEW YORK: August 22, 2007—Satnews Daily—the U.S. Navy has awarded a contract valued at $33 million to Rome Research Corporation (RRC). The contract is for the operation and maintenance of the communications satellite system for the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC) located at Point Mugu, California. Rome Research, a subsidiary of PAR Technology Corp. (NYSE:PTC), has provided support to the U.S. Department of Defense for the past 30 years.
RRC will manage certain operations at four existing NAVSOC facilities. They include the aforementioned Point Mugu as well as Colorado Springs, Colorado, Prospect Harbor, Maine and Finegayan, Guam. The NAVSOC satellites provide communications services to military forces worldwide.
