Results of Horizon Technologies Amber Users’ Workshop In Singapore

There were seven different Singaporean government agencies that attended 2019 Horizon Technologies' Amber users’ workshop in Singapore at the historic Singapore Cricket Club.

These working groups focused on the various APIs required for different agencies, geofencing, data latency, new orbits, and some of the more sensitive issues regarding L-Band/Sat Phones geolocation and monitoring.

The event, held on December 4, was jointly sponsored by Horizon Technologies and the UK High Commission in Singapore (DIT/DSO).

John Beckner (CEO), and Gary Goodrum (CTO) led the sessions on behalf of Horizon Technologies together with their local Singapore partner. There were seven different Singaporean government agencies in attendance and the working groups focused on the various APIs required for different agencies, geofencing, data latency, new orbits, and some of the more sensitive issues regarding L-Band/Sat Phones geolocation and monitoring.

Horizon Technologies’ CEO, John Beckner, stated that they are happy to have Singapore as an Amber partner. Singapore is in a strategic location in Asia and is a leading regional consumer of Maritime Domain Awareness data. When Amber data starts flowing it will be a key component in the government of Singapore’s MDA effort for Singapore and the whole region.

Beckner added that they were fortunate to have an outstanding group of attendees due to the fact that they currently work with NMIC in the UK and because they are a Public/Private partnership with the UKGovernment. Without the support from the High Commission and the UK Government, this event could not have taken place.

This workshop by Horizon Technologies is the first of a two-part series as there will be a follow-up workshop for a number of attendees that will coincide with the Singapore Air Show in February 2020. Horizon Technologies will be exhibiting at the air show as part of the UK ADS Pavilion, from February 11-16, 2020, and the AmberView GUI and latest legacy FlyingFish™ products including Xtender for UAV SIGINT.

Horizon Technologies, with offices in the United Kingdom, and the USA provides airborne satellite phone monitoring systems for ISR applications, equipping governments worldwide with their SIGINT capabilities. They are the OEM for the FlyingFish™ system which is flying daily on missions for NATO and FRONTEX. In 2020, Horizon Space Technologies will be launching the first of their Amber commercial SIGINT CubeSats and providing customers with a new Maritime Intelligence Data Service.
