On August 5, 2026, precision control systems manufacturer Moog Inc. announced a new High Delta-V configuration for its METEORITE ESPA-class satellite bus platform. The updated variant provides increased thrust and propellant mass capacity to support high-maneuverability missions without requiring redesigns or lengthy qualification cycles.

Built upon Moog’s flight-proven baseline platform and radiation-tolerant architecture, the bus is targeted at tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), high-energy orbital transfers, space domain awareness (SDA), and frequent plane-change missions.
High-Energy Maneuvering Platform Specifications
The High Delta-V METEORITE variant integrates expanded propellant storage and higher-thrust propulsion systems into the standardized ESPA-class footprint. Key platform details include:
- Heritage Components: Leverages TRL-9 radiation-tolerant avionics, power distribution, and motion control subsystems, incorporating technologies such as Moog’s Model-S Thruster Gimbal Assembly.
- Propulsion Capability: Designed for velocity-intensive operations including rapid orbital plane alterations and active station-keeping.
- Mission Versatility: Tailored to commercial, civil, and national security spacecraft operators requiring rapid-response maneuvering capabilities.
Production Facility and Clean-Room Expansion
Development and fabrication of the High Delta-V propulsion system are managed at Moog’s propulsion manufacturing site in Niagara Falls, New York. To accommodate growing production volumes for thrusters and liquid propulsion hardware, the company is expanding its dedicated clean-room footprint at the facility by more than 80 percent. The expanded space will streamline assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) processes to shorten delivery schedules.

Spacecraft Integration Capability
Final bus integration and payload accommodation take place at Moog’s satellite assembly facility in the greater Denver, Colorado area. The site retains operational capacity to integrate dozens of smallsat and ESPA-class spacecraft per year. Several baseline METEORITE buses are currently operating on orbit in support of active national security space operations.
