The agreement, valued at approximately 34 million Swedish Krona (MSEK), details the delivery of GomSpace’s proprietary satellite platform kits over several consecutive quarters in alignment with specific programmatic hardware milestones.
Context and Operational Growth Tracker
The procurement follows a period of strong top-line performance for the Swedish-Danish microsatellite supplier. According to financial documentation finalized earlier this year, GomSpace generated an all-time high revenue of 441.8 MSEK for the full fiscal year 2025, expanding its operational order backlog into 2026 to 410 MSEK. This growth trajectory reflects a strategic pivot initiated by Chief Executive Officer Carsten Drachmann to balance custom engineering programs with standardized, rapid-delivery hardware systems designed to bypass industrial supply-chain bottlenecks.
To support the volume assembly of these sub-system kits, GomSpace expanded its volume production workflow via a long-term strategic supply agreement with Danish electronics contract manufacturer NECAS. This industrial scaling allows GomSpace to manage inventory levels of pre-qualified components proactively, substantially compressing delivery timelines for commercial, academic, and government operators attempting to accelerate their time-to-mission windows.
Technical Profile of Modular Platform Kits
The hardware assemblies supplied under this contract consist of modular, flight-proven nanosatellite and microsatellite platform kits. Designed to satisfy form factors ranging from standard 1U CubeSats up to larger 12U and micro-payload configurations, these kits function as a pre-integrated “bus in a box.” By delivering pre-tested, structurally compatible mechanical frames, electrical power management subsystems (EPS), deployable solar arrays, and high-data-rate communication transceivers as a unified package, the architecture eliminates the baseline system integration complexities that traditionally stall custom satellite development.
Central to these platform kits is GomSpace’s localized command-and-control infrastructure. The systems integrate the NanoMind A3200 onboard flight computer alongside mature Attitude Determination and Control Subsystems (ADCS). The processing unit runs an integrated software environment backed by a specialized Software Development Kit (SDK) and an Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) framework. This structural layout allows customer engineering teams to write proprietary mission scripts and integrate custom payloads using standardized APIs without needing to re-engineer core low-level platform drivers or bus power configurations.
Delivery Matrix and Distribution Timeline
The hardware delivery schedule will be executed incrementally across the remaining quarters of 2026 and early 2027. This phased supply chain approach ensures that the customer receives synchronized tranches of hardware to match their internal testing, cleanroom integration, and payload validation workflows.
