DOHA, Qatar — Es’hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, announced on May 7, 2026, the expansion of its video distribution lineup at the 26° East orbital position with the addition of Sama Jordan TV. The partnership utilizes the Es’hail-2 satellite to broadcast the Jordanian news channel across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Strategic Growth of the 26° East Hotspot
The agreement includes Direct-to-Home (DTH) distribution as part of a premium bouquet uplinked from Es’hailSat’s state-of-the-art teleport facility in Doha. This move reinforces the 26° East orbital slot as a primary “video neighborhood” for regional broadcasters seeking maximum reach within the MENA footprint.
The addition of Sama Jordan follows a series of strategic expansions for Es’hailSat, including the March 2025 agreement with Roya Media Group and the June 2025 onboarding of Algeria’s El Ikhbariya. By consolidating high-value news and entertainment content, Es’hailSat continues to attract digital-first platforms transitioning to traditional satellite broadcasting to capture wider audiences.
Infrastructure and Technical Specifications
The broadcast is facilitated through Es’hailSat’s Al Ghuwayriyah Teleport, which achieved Tier 4 certification from the World Teleport Association (WTA) in early 2025. This certification represents the highest level of operational excellence and security for satellite ground segments.

Executive Perspectives
“Es’hailSat is delighted to welcome Sama Jordan TV channel and bring on board one of the region’s leading news broadcasters to our satellite hotspot,” said Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari, President and CEO of Es’hailSat. “The reliability and expertise in providing satellite services by Es’hailSat aligns perfectly with Sama Jordan’s vision to serve as a leading news broadcaster.”
Rabea Al-Awamleh, CEO of Sama Jordan TV, noted that the decision to broadcast via 26° East was driven by the orbital position’s strategic importance. “This ensures that Sama Jordan TV will be alongside the majority of key channels in the region that also transmit through Es’hailSat, strengthening our presence and accessibility to audiences,” she stated.
Operational Outlook
Sama Jordan TV is currently live on the Es’hail-2 bouquet. The partnership marks the latest phase in Es’hailSat’s 15-year history of catering to MENA broadcasters. Looking ahead, Es’hailSat remains focused on leveraging its co-located Es’hail-1 and Es’hail-2 assets to provide robust connectivity for government, enterprise, and mobility applications across the region.
