Aitech to showcase rugged tech powering AI in space at the upcoming Space Symposium

March 27, 2025

Aitech will showcase their latest technologies for space at the 40th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from April 7-10.

With the theme “Mission Proven. Space Proven. AI Ready,” Aitech will highlight next generation technology designed to advance the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across space applications, including the unveiling of an all-new AI-enabled satellite platform, representing a paradigm shift in cost-effectiveness, scalability, and accessibility for a broader range of uses and capabilities.

Aitech is trusted by industry leaders to power and sustain critical missions to space.  Recent examples include supplying the computing power to safely propel NASA’s OSIRIS-REx to the Bennu asteroid and return to Earth, supplying rad-tolerant SBCs to help power the HALO Program for “humanity’s first permanent home away from Earth,” and supplying the avionics computer systems for Intuitive Machines IM-1and IM-2 missions to the Moon. Designed from the ground up for reliable durability, Aitech space-qualified embedded computing and connectivity solutions deliver maximum reliability and performance, coupled with minimal power consumption, even in the most challenging space environments to enable the next wave of AI applications in space.

From autonomous space operations and improved situational awareness to next-generation computing for command and data handling systems, Aitech will showcase the latest in ruggedized solutions driving AI-enabling space applications:

  • The compact S-A2300 NVIDIA® Jetson™ AGX Orin-based AI Supercomputer for AI/ML edge processing, including image, video and signal processing in LEO environments to better utilize downlink bandwidth by processing in space, and performing autonomous operations – from object detection to threat avoidance
  • The 3U OpenVPX SP1 single-board computer (SBC) designed for use in various spacecraft C&DH and payload bus applications across LEO, MEO, GEO, lunar, and deep space environments, providing quad-core general purpose processing for improved command and data handling on complex satellite or payload bus to meet growing on-board computing needs
  • The COTS-based S-A1760 Venus™, the most powerful, smallest GPGPU AI supercomputer rated for space flight and small satellite constellations, to guide the capture of space debris or autonomously maneuver around debris when integrated with video and signal processing applications in orbital systems
  • The industry’s first and mission proven COTS-based S-A6640 12-port ethernet switch serving as the centerpiece of NEO/LEO Digital Backbone
  • An all-new AI-enabled satellite platform, representing a paradigm shift in cost effectiveness, scalability, and accessibility for a broader range of capabilities for military space, public safety and commercial space applications

We are at a pivotal time in space to understand, benefit and secure our safety on earth where expanded AI capabilities will significantly augment applications across space defense, public safety and commercial applications,” said Pratish Shah, U.S. general manager, Aitech. “Aitech solutions merge over three decades of space-proven success in the most challenging environments to deliver the computing infrastructure required for the next generation of AI-enabled initiatives. From AI-guided object or threat detection from space to improving space awareness for the avoidance of space debris or identifying other satellites, Aitech is looking forward to demonstrating the next wave of AI-enabled space missions at this year’s Space Symposium.”
