Rocket Lab finally launches ‘Changes in Latitudes Changes in Attitudes’ customer may be E-Space

It was a long journey that began as Rockeet Lab prepared for a launch in record breaking time for an unknown client. The launch contract was signed less than two months before launch, and the rush to the finish succeeded, but then there was a ‘hurry up and wait’ after meeting the schedule.

Today, November 5th, Rocket Lab successfully launched a yet to be identified satellite to SSO for an undisclosed customer from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1, Mahia Peninsula, New Zealand, which has been the site for 49 rocket launches.

The customer is thought to be Low Earth Orbit communication satellite constellation operator E-Space.

Electron’s 54th mission, ‘Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes’, was a dedicated mission to low Earth orbit for a confidential commercial customer that launched from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 on November 5th, 2024. The mission was Rocket Lab’s 12th launch of 2024, increasing the record number of Electron launches achieved annually since orbital launch services began in 2018.

Looks like Tuesday, November 5, at 02:30 AM (UTC-8), 2:30 AM PST Rocket Lab will be launching ‘Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes’.

Launch of a yet to identified satellite to SSO for an undisclosed customer. The customer is suspected to be Low Earth Orbit communication satellite constellation operator E-Space.
Launch contract was signed less than 2 months before launch.

Rocket Lab Electron is a two-stage orbital expendable launch vehicle (with an optional third stage) developed by the American aerospace company Rocket Lab. Electron is a small-lift launch vehicle designed to launch small satellites and cubesats to sun-synchronous orbit and low earth orbit. The Electron is the first orbital class rocket to use electric-pump-fed engines, powered by the 9 Rutherford engines on the first stage. It is also used as a suborbital testbed (called HASTE) for hypersonics research.

Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1B has witnessed the launch of 22 rockets, including 22 orbital launch attempts, while Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1, Mahia Peninsula, New Zealand, has been the site for 49 rocket launches.

Go for Launch! Fingers crossed, it finally appears that Rocket Lab will be launching ‘Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes’ on Monday, November 4th, at 2:30 AM PST from Lab Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. The launch total cost is $6 million.

Rocket Lab is now on hold from the original plans at Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. This launch is the fastest turn around in two months time for a launch between an unnamed customer’s purchase agreement and flight to date. The launch cost is $6,000,000. New launch date to be announced.

Rocket Lab ready on Saturday for ‘Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes’ launch for unnamed customer

Rocket Lab is set to launch this Saturday, October 19th, at 3:30 AM PDT from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. This launch is the fastest turn around in two months time for a launch between an unnamed customer’s purchase agreement and flight to date. The launch cost is $6,000,000.

Rocket Lab adds new mission to 2024 launch manifest + schedules launch in coming days

Rocket Lab USA, Inc. (Nasdaq: RKLB) has added a last-minute Electron launch to its launch manifest for a commercial mission that is scheduled to launch in just three days’ time.

The mission, called ‘Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes’, will launch to space from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 during a launch window that opens October 19th for a confidential commercial customer. The expedited mission will be Rocket Lab’s fastest turnaround to date: from signed contract to launch date in less than two months.

The mission will be Rocket Lab’s 12th launch of 2024, increasing the Company’s record number of Electron launches achieved annually since orbital launch services began in 2018. Rocket Lab has achieved a 100% increase in its Electron launch rate for the first half of this year compared with the same time in 2023, doubling its rocket production and launch cadence within a year. This increased launch and production rate bolsters Electron’s significance as a proven, sought-after capability for commercial satellite customers globally.
