Venus Aerospace, a Houston-based hypersonic startup enabling cost-effective, one-hour global transport, welcomes the addition of Airbus Ventures to the company’s team of investors.
Unlocking the hypersonic economy, Venus Aerospace is building a suite of unique capabilities to navigate existing challenges of reusable hypersonic systems.
One such capability is the rotating detonation rocket engine (RDRE) — an engine with much higher efficiency and a more compact profile over standard rocket engines.

With the strong support of Airbus Ventures joining Venus’ investor syndicate, Venus’ next round will allow the company to take the final step from lab to prototype as the team flies its drone to Mach 3 under RDRE power. This will include long-duration engine runs this summer at Spaceport Houston, as well as the design, build and flight of the drone.
