[Satnews] BERGEN, New Jersey and NEW YORK. Vimond Media Solutions has opened a new regional office in New York city to support its growing business in North America. Overseeing this endeavour are Vimond's CEO, Helge Høibraaten, and CTO, Glenn Pedersen, both now based in New York.
2015 saw large-scale deployments for Vimond in North America, including two important brands rolling-out services based on Vimond technology. Comcast, the widely known cable company, and Thomson Reuters, the world’s most eminent name in news-gathering, are among those launching online services based on Vimond Media Solutions’ product portfolio and professional services.

Vimond’s product line for online service providers includes the Vimond Platform, and Vimond Highlights. The advanced Vimond Platform provides a comprehensive environment for managing and delivering multi-format over-the-top (OTT) services, with full facilities for all creative, logistical, and business aspects of the operation. With modular multi-tenant architecture, the Vimond Platform offers sophisticated tools and controls for every aspect of an OTT service, from ingest and encoding, through conditional access to business intelligence reporting. The Vimond Platform powers innovative online media services from worldwide providers including Asia's iflix, and European broadcasts RTVE, NRK, Nordisk Film, Denmarks Radio.
Vimond Highlights is a new approach to live-to-VOD conversion, combining a dedicated focus on rapid short-form clip production and distribution to social media with broadcast quality recording and editing tools. Broadcast users include TV 2 (Winter and Summer Olympics), TV 4 (Winter Olympics), NRK (World Cup), DR (X Factor), and Reuters TV (Reuters TV News).
The expansion of Vimond Media Solutions in the U.S. is not only a step forward towards strenghtening and growing Vimond’s portfolio of clients. The new office also represents the expansion of the Vimond team, as the company is now offering new job opportunities in the New York office.
