Miranda will also be discussing with CCW delegates the impact of 4K UHDTV and the company’s readiness to assist with the transition, both in terms of Miranda’s 4K UHDTV-enabled technologies and in-house expertise.
Products featured by Miranda at CCW will include the new Kaleido-MX and Kaleido-Modular-X multiviewer series, which combine weight, space and power efficiencies with no-compromise video scaling quality for true “any source, anywhere” processing. Both are specially designed to be easy to select, configure and install.
OB trucks and small studios can take advantage of the space-saving hybrid NVISION 8140 hybrid router, part of Miranda’s NVISION 8500 Enterprise Class Hybrid router series, which provides a 144×288 routing matrix with ultimate reliability due to full 2+1 crosspoint protection. At only 8RU, the NVISION 8140 packs enterprise-class features into a compact form factor that’s ideal for space constrained environments.
Linking the multiviewer and router will be the new M3 3Gbps integration cable, jointly developed by Miranda and Belden, which vastly simplifies router to multiviewer connectivity. The M3 cable replaces 16 coax connectors by combining them into a single, high density cable that requires a single-action connection, substantially streamlining the ability of integrators and installers to ensure fast, seamless integration. The M3 cable supports SMPTE 424M, thus ensuring that pristine 3Gbps video can be transported across double the cable length of competitive offerings.
Telecast’s CopperHead 3404K camera-mountable fiber optic camera transceiver system will also be on display. The two-fiber strand system can simultaneously transport all bi-directional signals, including four 3Gb/s HD/SDI paths, for 4K productions utilizing the increasingly popular 4K cameras introduced in the last year by Sony and For-A.
Also appearing will be Rattler 4, an ultra-miniature fiber optic media converter module that enables the user to transmit one or two digital streams in any contemporary digital format. Rattler 4 is available as single transmitters and receivers, dual transmitters and receivers or bi-directional transceivers.
For playout applications, Miranda will feature its flagship integrated playout platform, iTX, which features new enhancements such as version 1.1 of iTX Render Service for Adobe® After Effects® CS6 software. The iTX Render Service automates and manages fully rendered After Effects graphics, making them immediately ready for playout from the iTX platform.
Also being demonstrated will be iTX Master Control, which combines playout automation with live event functionality using control panels that can be seamlessly switched to and from throughout a live broadcast.
Finally, Miranda’s CCW booth will feature advanced subtitling and closed-captioning software. Softel’s flagship caption creation and repurposing workstation, SwiftCreate V8, streamlines the preparation, checking and repurposing of closed captions and subtitles for both traditional and IP-delivered video services.
