“With the end in view to extend the possibilities of the emergency situations monitoring space systems <…> the plans up to 2015 <…> are to deploy space data receiving centers in Anadyr, Dudinka, Murmansk, which will enable to conduct permanent operational control of the entire territory of RF, including the Arctic zone and near-border territories of the adjacent countries,” states the EMERCOM Agency report to the government.
A system of emergency situations monitoring from space has been created and developed in Russia. Operational data from space is currently being supplied from ten RS satellites. Data is submitted to the command centers of the emergency prevention and response system, both the federal and the regional centers. (Source: RIA Novosti)
