PolarSat’s Mesh Keeps Civil Aviation of China’s Traffic From Making A Mess (VSAT)

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, January 30, 2013, the technology leader in full mesh hubless VSAT communication modem technology, is pleased to announce that it has received multiple orders from General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) for the equipment supply, and technical services for additional VSATPlus II satellite communications equipment. The equipment will expand the existing network to over 350 sites occupying a complete 54MHz transponder over 20 carriers.

This VSATPlus II network connects the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) headquarters offices and regional centers in a full mesh network. All sites will support a complex mix of voice and data communications. A combination of pre-assigned (PAMA) and on-demand (DAMA) voice circuits are provided for normal telephony traffic as well as hotline applications (for example, VHF voice for Air Traffic Controllers).

Data communications include both circuit- switched (synchronous and asynchronous), providing the necessary transmission facilities for such applications as radar multicasting, LAN-to-LAN connectivity, client-server applications and general corporate communications. Another important application to be supported by the network is the ability to provide backup connectivity to the ATMB’s terrestrial network.
