[SatNews] According to sources, the stock exchange in Kuala Lumpur witnessed a play today that may well result in the fulll acquisition of Measat Global Bhd.
Measat, which owns four satellites whose capacity is leased by Astro All Asia, is in play to the tune of 4.20 ringgit per share, the offer being made by T. Ananda Krishnan, the second richest individual in Malaysia. He already owns nearly 60 percent of Measat’s shares — Telekon Malaysia Bhd. owns 60 million shares, or just over 15 percent of the company. The per share price offered is approximately 10.5 percent higher than Measat’s closing stock price on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange yesterday. This offers values the company at 1.64 billion ringgit, or $513 million.
