EM Research… Parade Of New Products (VSAT)

June 30, 2010

[SatNews] EM Research has released several new VSAT Frequency Synthesizer products. The include the SLX-1450, ZLX-1450, LX-1750, HFS-2150, and THOR-13050.

First up is the company’s ZLX-1450 frequency synthesizer that operates in the VSAT Block I I.F. frequency band from 950 to 1450 MHz, housed in a miniature, drop-in replacement, surface-mount package (0.60” square). The unit features 500 KHz step size, +7 dBm output power, low spurs (<-60 dBc) and +5 VDC supply voltage with extremely low power consumption (<60 mA). Locked to an external 10 MHz reference, the ZLX-1450 exhibits extremely low phase noise (<-100 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz). ZLX units are available from 50 to 4000 MHz as fixed frequency up to octave bandwidths. Custom units feature external references from 5 to 125 MHz or optional internal references, select supply voltages (+3, +3.3 or +5 VDC), 10 KHz to 10 MHz steps sizes and optional wide operating temperature range (-40˚C to +85˚C).

Their new HFS-2150 operates in the VSAT Block III I.F. frequency band from 950 to 2150 MHz and features exceptionally low phase noise (<-110 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz). The unit features 200 KHz step size, +7 dBm output power, +5 VDC supply voltage with low power consumption (<150 mA). The HFS-2150 is housed in a small surface-mount package (1.25” x 1” x 0.24”). HFS units are available in fixed to greater than octave bandwidths from 50 to 8000 MHz. Custom units feature external references from 5 to 125 MHz or optional internal references, select supply voltages (+5, +8 or +12 VDC), 10 KHz to 10 MHz step sizes and optional wide operating temperature range (-40˚C to +85˚C).

The LX-1750 is a cost-effective frequency synthesizer operating in the VSAT Block II I.F. frequency band from 950 to 1750 MHz housed in a miniature surface-mount package (0.75” square). The unit features 500 KHz step size, +7 dBm output power and +5 VDC supply voltage with extremely m low power consumption (<60 mA). Locked to an external 10 MHz reference, the LX-1750 exhibits extremely low phase noise (<-100 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz). LX units are available from 50 to 6000 MHz as fixed frequency up to octave bandwidths. Custom units feature external references from 5 to 125 MHz or optional internal references, select supply voltages (+3, +3.3 or +5 VDC), 10 KHz to 10 MHz step sizes and optional wide operating temperature range (-40˚C to +85˚C).

Fourth on the new product agenda is the SLX-1450, which operates in the VSAT Block I I.F. frequency band from 950 to 1450 MHz in an ultra-miniature surface-mount package of 0.5” square. The unit features 25 KHz step size, +7 dBm output power, +5 VDC supply voltage with extremely low power consumption (<55 mA). Locked to an external 10 MHz reference, the SLX-1450 exhibits low phase noise (<-85 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz) and operates over -30˚C to +70˚C. SLX units are available from 50 to 6000 MHz as fixed frequency up to octave bandwidths. Custom units feature external references from 5 to 125 MHz, select supply voltages (+3, +3.3 or +5 VDC), 10 KHz to 10 MHz step sizes and optional wide operating temperature range (-40˚C to +85˚C).

And last, but not least, the THOR-13050 phase-locked oscillator, which operates fixed at 13050 MHz for mixing with the VSAT downlink frequency band of 14 to 14.5 GHz to produce an I.F. of 950 to 1450 MHz. The THOR-13050 features a hi-rel, rugged design with operating temperature range of -30˚C to +70˚C. The unit features +7 dBm output power, low spurs (<-60 dBc) and +5 VDC supply voltage. The THOR-13050 is housed in a small connectorized package (2.5” x 1.1” x 0.4”). THOR units are available in fixed to >30% bandwidths from 1 to 18 GHz. Custom units feature external references from 5 to 125 MHz or optional internal references, select supply voltages (+5, +8 or +12 VDC) and 10 KHz to 10 MHz step sizes. Hermetically-sealed units are available with wide operating temperature ranges (-40˚C to +85˚C or optional -55˚C to +105˚C) and high-vibration tolerance.
