Boeing has signed a multi-satellite contract which is their first order for the Company’s Boeing 702B satellite design.
On July 16th, at 11:30 PDT, Craig Cooning (Vice President and General Manager, Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems), Ken Lee (Intelsat Senior Vice President, Space Systems), and Jim Simpson, (Vice President, Business Development, Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems) will announce Boeing‘s new 702B satellite model. The contract is with Intelsat, Ltd., and the new satellites will refresh and add new capacity to Intelsat’s global fleet. The 702B is an evolution of the Boeing 702 satellite and operates in the medium-level power range, with six to 12 kilowatts of onboard power as well as a more flexible, modular design that maintains the spacecraft’s advanced technologies.
